Josh and Wendy

This week I did a report about two teenager who were playing with a gun. One of them accidentally got shot. I went to the apartment complex where it happened, and interviewed Wendy who lives there. She was really nice. She even put my business card in her bra just in case she needed to call me about another story.

Things have been crazy this week with the Swine Flu. In Huntsville, two students got ill and have a 95% they have Swine Flu. For now, there is none in my area. They held my two stories today because of all the Swine Flu coverage in Huntsville.

Make sure to wash your hands, and don't hang around people who are coughing a lot.

Josh's Alabama Sisters throw him a surprise birthday party

What a great day! It started off stressful . . . but turned out terrific. Things got hairy when my stories didn't come together as soon as I hoped. I was rushing back to the office to put them together when I got a phone call. It was Beth Agee from the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Office. She told me I had an important piece of mail. When she usually tells me that, it means I have a letter from a death row inmate . . . not today! When I got back, the ladies at the tourism office had a surprise be-lated birthday party for me. They had bought a gigantic cookie cake, and the best present a reporter can have . . . ties!! Six of them! I even got a Donald Trump tie. It was a great ending to a busy day. Below are some photos from the party.

Quadruple Murder

Last week was really tough. A man shot his wife, 16-year-old daughter, sister, and 11-year-old nephew. He then committed suicide after burning his house down. It happened in the Greenhill Community in Lauderdale County (about 15 miles from where I live).

Here is the CNN link:

Here are two stories I did:

I did 7 reports on the murders. I was the only reporter from our station to cover the story. It was tough. It brought a lot of memories of the Eubanks in Nacogdoches. I was able to interview classmates of the mother, interview an aunt, and do a neat story at the candlelight vigil the school had for the 16-year-old.

Times are getting really bad. You have to live each day to the fullest because you never know when it will be your last.

Did everyone but me know Ally was pregnant?

I just found out Ally is pregnant !! Was I the last to know?? I guess I need to check everyone's blogs more often.

This weekend was great! I love General Conference. I didn't always like it. When I was younger I hated it. It felt like it would go on forever, and it was so boring. It wasn't till my mission that I learned how important General Conference is. I get such a spiritual boost. It is great to get guidance for a living prophet.
