Amber rocks Florence Ward's Senior Primary Sharing Time

Today my primary class was in charge of sharing time in primary (the last half hour in our church service.) We are learning about families, and we were assigned families. I got my 6 kids to draw pictures of their favorite brother or sister, and then share a story about them. I then had a big SURPRISE! I called Amber on my cell phone, and put her on speaker phone. She shared a couple of experience when we were kids, and then she bore her testimony. The spirit was really strong, and the kids were very reverent. I ended by saying it so important to love your siblings now because one day they might not be close by. I asked all the kids to do one nice thing for their brothers and sisters this week. I ended by showing a picture of Jesus Christ, he is our ultimate example of a big brother.
I believe it was one of the best sharing times in church history. I appreciate Amber missing part of her sacrament meeting to help me with my lesson.

I am so happy winter is FINALLY over!

Today was a beautiful day in Alabama. The sun was out and the birds were singing. I hope this kind of weather stays around for a long time.

Today I traveled to Hamilton, AL (my first time there) for my stake calling at a counselor in the stake YM presidency. It was a tiny branch - only one young man and one young woman. There was a good spirit there, and the pot luck was the best! It reminded me of when we lived in Thomasville, Al and attended the Grove Hill Branch. Those were the days!

Not much else is going on. I am looking around right now for a new job. If you know of any good TV reporting jobs near you, please send them my way. I have seven months left on my current contract, so this is the time to look.

Hope everyone is doing good (and hope everyone went to church today). I am just glad Spring is here!

I want to share my testimony with everyone

This week was really stressful at work. I won't go into details, but I had some controversial stories I had to cover. A lot of people got mad at me.

On Wednesdays, I have Institute. For those of you who are not members, it is a scripture study class for young adults in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This week I really didn't want to go, I was just stressed and wanted to crash. I decided it would probably be a good idea to go.

Sister Jensen is the teacher, and we are studying the Bible. We talked about Paul's missionary work, and having the armor of God on us at all time. She showed an old seminary video, that I remember watching when I was in seminary (a scripture class for high school students). It showed high school kids being tempted, and then it would flash back to ancient soldiers. Some of the soldiers felt it wasn't important to wear their armor at all times, and they took it off. That is when the enemy came and shot them with arrows. It flashed back to the high school students, and showed many of them being tempted at a party.

I could feel the Spirit, or the truthfulness of this message while it was playing. It really made me think about the important things in my life, and my testimony of Jesus Christ. It reminded me life is not going to be easy, and we are all going to make mistakes, but there is hope and there is a plan to be happy.

I just want to let everyone know I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I know it is through his sacrifice we can be forgiven. Jesus also taught us how to be happy in this life. There is a plan, and prophets have been called to teach and remind us of that plan. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth, and that we have a prophet of God today. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church on the face of the earth today. I am grateful for the scriptures; both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. It is great to have two books to teach us of Christ. I have a very strong testimony of going to church. It is vital to remaining spiritually strong. I really would encourage anyone who is not going to church, to make that first step. You have to have that spiritual boost each week. I don't know how you can keep your testimony if you don't do that simple step.

I am grateful to have parents who taught me the truth when I was young. I am grateful I served a mission. It really helped me build a firm foundation for my life. I know I am not perfect, but I hope I can strive to be a good person, and be an example to others.

If you haven't gone to church lately, or read the Book of Mormon. I would really challenge you to do those two things. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Just do it!

Josh adds protein to his diet

For the first time in my life, I have started drinking protein shakes. It is supposed to help with muscle growth, so I will let you know if it works.

Snow delays Josh's church services

This is what I saw when I looked out the window this morning - SNOW! We had about 2 inches fall over night, by noon today most of it had melted. I was about to leave for church, and my neighbors came out and said it had been delayed for a hour and a half.
I was able to get some video of the Infanger's kids playing in the snow, and it will air tonight on the news. I helped them build the snowman pictured above.
