Back to a normal routine

It has been a crazy few months - a trip to Haiti, then 3 weeks in Nashville covering flooding.

I have really enjoyed it.

It does feel nice to be in a normal routine again. But again in news, nothing is ever routine.

You never know when they will call you to come in early, or stay late covering breaking news.

Life is good.

Josh whitewater rafting!

I just completed another one of my goal's in life . . . whitewater rafting! I did a story several weeks ago with a rafting company near the NC/TN border. I-40 had been closed for awhile due to a rock slide, and it was affecting their business. They invited me to come back and raft, so I took them up on their offer today. I had a blast. This is the same river the paper mill in Canton, NC puts their waste in.

First Baptist Church Knoxville Flood Clean-up Trip

For three days this week I traveled with a group from the First Baptist Church Knoxville to help flood victims in Nashville. I did 6 reports on their work there. There is still a lot of clean-up to be done there.

Nashville Flooding Video

This is a little video of the trip to Cheatham County (20 miles outside Nashville). In this county, more than 500 homes flooded. My biggest worry was to keep my camera inside the boat.

Josh covering Nashville flooding

I just spend 2 days in Nashville covering the flooding there. I just found out a few minutes ago that I will be heading back all next week. I went with some men from the Knoxville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
