P-Day at the Tuckaleechee Caverns

The Elders had never been to a cave, so I took them to the Tuckaleechee Caverns in Townsend, TN. Here are some photos from our adventure today.

EF-3 TORNADO

Wednesday night I had my first tornado in Tennessee. I really liked living here previously because the mountains usually kill any severe thunderstorms that move across here. As you remember, in North Alabama I had my fair share of deadly tornadoes. The one that hit near Greenback, TN was massive. EF-3, 160 miles in hour winds, and left more than 4 miles worth of damage. It threw cars around like they were toys. The miracle of the whole thing . . . no one died. Several homes were flattened, but the families were gone for some reason or another. Everyone was really blessed here. I just hope this is the last tornado I have to experience in Tennessee.

Smoky Mountian P-Day

I was just called to be the ward mission leader at my church in Knoxville. This means I am responsible to help the missionaries do their work. After our first meeting Saturday, I found out that they had never been to the Smoky Mountians, or Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Today is their preparation day(or P-Day), so I told them I would take them.

We first went to the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, and then hiked to Laural Falls in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We also drove around Cades Cove. It was a fun day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I don't know why, but I always feel guilty if I don't wear green on St. Patrick's Day. Today I decided on this nice tie, with green stripes. Did you wear green today?
